Jack is quite the riot at Mommy's work! Recently, he's started chuckling on his own while we are working. He is definitely learning to entertain and amuse himself. In the above pictures, you can see Jack is supporting his love for all of his Aunts [related and "adopted" ones]!
Our newest undertaking has been to ween Jack off the swaddle. God bless the swaddle! It has been such a great tool to get him to sleep and keep him asleep. It's hard to motivate yourself to start a different nightime routine when your child is sleeping at least 10 hours straight through the night! But Jack has handled the change very well and we only had a night or two of hearing him wake up in the middle of the night.
He has to spread those arms out to get comfortable!
Jack is just growing up so fast! I know we say this in every post but it truly amazes us at how much he changes day to day and week to week. He is very inquisitive and attentive to his surroundings. He is always looking around listening and watching what's going on!
Every moment seems so precious because we know that they are fleeting. I will cherish all of these moments especially our bedtime routine ones. While being rocked for a few minutes, we love to share sweet songs that, to us, are like prayers for Jack. While I'm singing Jack usually turns his head towards me and I know that he is only listening to my voice, but I pray that he will hold these words in his heart as he gets older. One of our favorite songs to sing is the old hymn "Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus". What a sweet sounding song with such powerful words of putting our full trust in the Lord Most High. Our greatest prayer for our son is that he comes to trust in the God who saves and who has saved us!
